I’ve been writing for 8+ years, with 200+ bylines across a variety of publications and brands, including GearJunkie, 57hours, Backpacker, Melanin Base Camp, and more.

I also hold a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology and have years of boots-on-the-ground experience working with grassroots organizations and NGOs.

When it comes to the outdoors, I have 10 years of mountaineering and rock climbing experience, including successful international climbs to the summits of Mt. Kazbek (Mt. Kazbegi) at 16,581 ft. in the Republic of Georgia and Mexico’s Pico de Orizaba (Citlaltépetl) at 18,491 ft.

Travel has taken me waterfall jumping and rappelling in Costa Rica, cigar rolling in Cuba, banana-ketchup tasting in St. Lucia, living with a Berber family in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco, hiking in the Rwenzori Mountains in Uganda, and more.

I’m also a certified nonprofit grant writer with 20+ successful personal and professional grants.

Outdoor & Adventure

I write outdoor and adventure stories that bring the excitement of being outside to readers while making unfamiliar sports and activities feel approachable. I’m particularly well suited to content for people who are new to a sport, wondering where to start, or looking to deepen their knowledge.

I’m especially interested in stories that combine practical information with the real-world experience of getting outside, from mountaineering and backpacking to hiking and other outdoor pursuits.

I also write outdoor gear reviews, gear guides, and copywriting, translating technical information into clear, useful content that helps readers understand their options and make informed purchasing decisions.

Travel

I write destination stories, personal travel essays, destination guides, and listicles, with a particular interest in the far-flung, unusual, and memorable.

My travel writing combines firsthand experience with culture, history, food, people, and the unexpected details that make a place more than a point on a map. I’m drawn to stories that take readers somewhere they may never have considered visiting, or show them a familiar destination from a different perspective.

Health & Science

As a trained research epidemiologist with a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology, I specialize in taking complex health and scientific information and turning it into clear, accessible content.

My goal is to make information easier to understand, whether the audience is healthcare professionals, patients, or the general public. I have particular experience with content designed to support health literacy and communicate research in practical, digestible ways.

Nonprofit Grant Writing

I write and develop proposals for foundation grants, corporate grants, and community funding opportunities, with an emphasis on clearly communicating an organization’s mission, the people it serves, and why its work deserves support.

My approach combines research, storytelling, and strategic positioning to turn an organization’s goals and impact into a compelling case for funding.

A Woman’s Guidebook to Mountaineering

I’m currently writing a practical and personal guide to mountaineering for women, based on years of experience in the sport.

The guidebook combines hard-earned lessons, personal stories, and the things I wish someone had told me before I started climbing mountains.
